Infineon is one of the companies making transceiver chips for SHDSL, and apparently it's more popular in Europe. Their SHDSL chip family is called SOCRATES, which stands for SHDSL One Chip Rate-Adaptive Transceiver with Embedded Startup. I have considered these chips as a possible alternative SHDSL solution to the morally reprehensible Mindspeed, but unfortunately Infineon doesn't seem any better in terms of openness. The SOCRATES pages on Infineon's website contain nothing but marketing crap, and one datasheet found on the net has confirmed my suspicions: the booty is marked Confidential, Distribution with NDA only.

The only Infineon S(H)DSL datasheet we have is for their 4-channel SDFE-4 (PEF 24624), and its usefulness is quite limited:

For what it's worth, we have put Infineon's marketing briefs and the lone SDFE-4 datasheet on our FTP site.
